About Lucas

Lucas has always enjoyed crunching numbers and teaching others. Before discovering Financial Planning, Lucas worked at a local community bank in Illinois while he was attending college. There he learned about 401(k)s, and Employee Stock Purchase Plans, as well as, had a great inside look at peoples’ finances and how they navigated them differently. As he realized the complexity of peoples financial lives and how many people struggle to understand some of the tools available, he found Financial Planning as a profession. That led him to move to Colorado and attend Colorado State University for their Financial Planning program while working at First Tech Federal Credit Union, which allowed him to build upon his banking knowledge with a more comprehensive view of finances. Following graduation, Lucas worked for a top independent financial advisor in Northern Colorado where he served pre-retirees and retirees in building financial plans focussed on retirement. Wanting to make a greater impact on his clients’ financial lives, particularly helping folks earlier in their careers with education and guidance, Lucas started Level Up Financial Planning. Level Up Financial Planning specializes in helping tech professionals navigate their unique employer stock options and RSUs, tax planning, and gaining clarity on how their actions may impact their ability to reach all of their financial goals.
