9. Make Money with Amazon

There is a lot of controversy over workers’ rights and the treatment of Amazon workers. However, it’s still an undeniable fact that Amazon is a well-paying company that provides flexible shifts.

Night shifts at Amazon are a great way to take advantage of after-hours potential while also making $15 per hour. This minimum wage applies across the board – no matter what position you hold. Even if you just want a temporary job, Amazon could be a great short-term – but well-paying – employment option to consider.

They even have some online options to consider, which means you can further bolster your earning potential from your computer.

8. Late Night Pizza Delivery Driver

Whether you need the income or just want to save up some money, working as a pizza delivery driver is a great way to fulfill both needs. The average wage for a pizza delivery driver in the United States is roughly $8 to $9 an hour. However, working this job as a side income on the weekends can be lucrative due to increased tips.

While this is an excellent way to make money at night, you should also note you’ll need your own vehicle. This also means that you’ll be putting wear and tear on your personal property for the sake of work. If you live in the city, then, look into moped or bicycle deliveries to remove the burden of adding miles to your engine.

7. Overnight Babysitter

Overnight babysitting/nannying jobs are always in demand as parents look to get away for a night or two. By getting certifications, such as CPR certifications, you make yourself much more sellable and create trust with your clients. This also makes you more eligible for some of the best babysitting gigs: nighttime and overnight jobs.

By building a rapport with clients as a responsible babysitter, you can maximize your earning potential for higher-paying overnight jobs. The average hourly rate of babysitters is $17.50, generally paid in cash. This can provide a tremendous nightly side income, primarily if you work for multiple clients.

Bonus: once the kids are asleep, you can work side hustles on your computer, as well! There’s no reason to minimize how you can make money at night. To get started on this journey, check out some of our articles on working online, earning passive income, and making money on Steam here.

6. Security Guard on Nights and Weekends

More places than you think need 24/7 security, so these jobs can provide a decent income for some people. These types of jobs are often less involved and provide downtime where you can work on other things (so long as you stay alert!). The national average for security guards is $13 an hour, but there is room to advance your pay. As a way to make money at night, this job can even provide a little excitement in your life. (Just be careful!).

5. Freelance Writer

Selling your creativity is one of the best things a person can do, and as a way to make money at night, it’s pretty hard to beat the freelance life. The best part about this job is that there are no hours, so it is entirely up to you. The nighttime is a tranquil time where many people can focus, especially if they have trouble sleeping.

The hourly pay in 2020 ranges from $12 to $30 per hour for a freelance writer, but writers are generally paid by the word or by article. This means that the more you write, the more money you can make. If you’re not sure where to get started, check out Upwork or Fiverr first to get a feel for the market.

4. Bartending

Bartending is a job that never sleeps. But, it can also be a very lucrative side hustle for someone who doesn't mind giving up their weekends. The night shifts on weekends are the most promising shift, but competition for bartending jobs is usually pretty tight. It is better to get your foot in the door at a restaurant and learn from there if you have never bartended before.

While the hourly wage for bartenders is only $10.36, that is a skewed model as bartenders thrive off of the tips. This can add up to a lot of extra money that is never officially declared in their paychecks. In fact, depending on the location of the bar, you can make $100 or more per night in tips alone!

3. Dropshipping

Dropshipping is a young and emerging e-commerce business with a lot of earning potential if you leverage yourself smartly. One of the best parts is, that you can set up your business on your schedule, which makes this an ideal way to make money at night.

In the dropshipping model, individuals develop connections (usually online or through a dropshipping site) with suppliers. Then, these individuals take it into their own hands to develop a website, correctly market the product(s) that they have selected to sell from their wholesaler, and then effectively complete transactions. Dropshipping customers pay the drop shipper directly to acquire the item. Once the transaction goes through, the warehouse ships the product straight to the customer’s doorstep.

The most appealing part of this whole process is that the person running the dropshipping website never actually holds any inventory at all. All orders are placed on an individual basis and fulfilled by the supplier to be sent to the consumer.

Dropshipping is lucrative because it is possible for dropshippers to find excellent suppliers with cheap, yet quality, products. Then the person can list that product and whatever price they desire on their website, so you determine your profit margins as a dropshipper as long as you can successfully sell at that price. Great ways to get started are by utilizing Youtube videos and browsing through websites such as Oberlo or Shopify.

2. Casino Dealer

The night shifts at casinos are often where the real money is made, especially on weekends. This makes it the perfect job to have if you are a night owl, as most casinos will not only allow you to choose the night shift but beg you to cover the busy hours.

Dealers earn money through hourly wages and tips, which amounts to a generally well-paying wage. On average, casino dealers make anywhere from $16-$22 per hour, depending on which state in which the casino is located.

1. Entrepreneur!

The limit for yourself is endless. Have you had an idea about something? Ever wanted to learn more about a specific side of a business or a particular type of business? Use your time at night to research something you have always wanted to execute and create a plan. Don’t sell yourself short – anything is possible!
