How the money works
You earn money in the secondary market via asset appreciation as the paintings are continually assessed for sales potential.
Masterworks charges a management fee of 1.5% per year and will take 20% of the future profits at the time of a sale.
Investment risks
The asset is never truly sold and is therefore illiquid. However, there is insurance on the art if it were to be damaged.
